Jeremy Scott x MAC
Jeremy Scott, if you haven’t heard of him is an American designer famous for his bold prints radical print, his love of Jimmy Savile’s style and is currently the creative director at Moschino. He has a history of great collaborations including designing costumes for Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Madonna, trainer collections for Adidas, and this one with MAC certainly looks like a good one.
Eye Shadow x 29: Lo-Fi
This beautifully designed package consists of 29 shades of eye-shadow in a groovy “boom box” packaging. The exterior packing is like every stereotypical 80s boom box you’ve seen on the New York subway in films and the eyeshadows are arranged like a spectral analyser on the inside (they were real-time readouts of frequencies popular on 1980s stereos for you young ones).
The collection offers 29 kaleidoscopic shades of eyeshadow including various textures from lustre to satin to matte to veluxe pearl, which allows you to create a variety of looks. The saturated hues contain six satin shades, one lustre shade, thirteen matte shades, eight frost finishes and their veluxe pearl shades. They can be applied wet or dry, are dermatologically and ophthalmologist tested, are safe for contact lens wearers and are non-acnegenic.
Cheek x3: Acoustica
This blusher set comes in packaging resembling a CD-R, which for the younger amongst you, was what we used between cassette tapes (ask your grandparents) and streaming playlists. The palette itself features a blusher, a bronzer and a highlighter for creating a variety of sculpted looks. Easily blendable, the three shades include Heaven in your smile – a pale frosty highlight colour, Acoustica – a warm brown matte finish and Wall of desire at satin mid-tone pink. They have all been dermatologically tested and are non-acnegenic.
It would be easy to dismiss these products as gimmicks, but the truth is that these are very versatile sets that offer a huge amount of options for different looks. The only limit is your imagination. The Eyeshadow x 29: Lo-fi retails at £75 and the Cheek x3: Acoustica retails at £5, which is pretty reasonable for what you’re getting. I would recommend these super cool makeup sets to anyone.
